Lisa Buckley

Chief Regulatory Officer at Velico Medical

Lisa Buckley advises Velico in several strategic areas including Science and Technology Development, Regulatory Affairs, and Clinical Affairs. She brings deep domain knowledge with over 12 years of hands-on experience developing dried plasma products.

Lisa has over 30 years of experience in medical research and medical device development. In a previous role as Senior Vice President of Research and Development at HemCon Medical Technologies, Lisa served as Principal Investigator and oversaw the development of a freeze-dried plasma product funded through the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command. The product successfully completed a Phase 1 clinical trial and was poised to begin multi-center Phase 2 clinical trials. She has publications and patents in the field of freeze-dried plasma and novel containers for plasma products.

Currently, Lisa serves as Director of Regulatory Affairs and Clinical Trials at the Center for Regenerative Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. She continues to collaborate and provide freeze-dried plasma for research in resuscitative therapies for hemorrhagic shock models of trauma and traumatic brain injury models.

Lisa holds a BS in Biology from Boston College and an M.P.H. in Healthcare Management from Columbia University.
