Sumith Gunasekara

Sumith Gunasekara has held a variety of roles in the software engineering industry since 2000. Sumith began their career as a Software Engineering Trainee at Virtusa in 2000. In 2001, they took on the role of Temporary Assistant Lecturer at the University of Colombo. In 2002, they were hired as a Software Engineer at the University of Colombo. In 2007, they were hired as a Senior Software Engineer at PPS Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. From 2009 to 2012, they worked at Latitude655 Pvt Ltd as a Technical Lead and Senior Software Engineer. From 2012 to 2014, they worked at Leapset Engineering as a Senior Technical Lead and Technical Lead. Finally, they have been the CTO at Velou since 2018.

Sumith Gunasekara attended the University of Colombo from 1996 to 2000, where they earned a BSc in Computer Science. Sumith then returned to the University of Colombo from 2007 to 2009, where they earned an MSc in Applied Electronics with a focus in Physics.
