Emma Lawler

Emma Lawler is a seasoned entrepreneur and product manager with extensive experience in developing and optimizing technology-driven solutions. As Co-Founder of Velvet since May 2023, Emma leads an AI gateway that enhances model performance in production environments. Previously, Emma served as Entrepreneur In Residence at Chicago Ventures, contributing to an investment team while founding a new venture. Emma held the position of Lead Product Manager at theSkimm, where innovative content membership features were launched across multiple platforms. Earlier, Emma co-founded Moonlight, a marketplace for remote developers that was acquired by PullRequest, and contributed as Product Designer at Fitbit and Fitstar, enhancing user experiences for millions. Emma's career began at AKQA as a User Experience Designer, and entrepreneurial efforts included founding Kubmo to promote coding education in Kenya and Peru. Emma holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado Boulder.
