Sean Cheang (University Malaya)

Sean Cheang, MBA, has a diverse work experience across various industries. Sean started their career in 2008 as an Internal Auditor at UOB, where they conducted operational audits and provided risk solutions for banking operations. In 2009, they joined Jotun and held multiple roles, including International Trainee, SEA Regional Marketing Exec, SEAP Regional Business Support Manager, Market Development Manager, Global Key Accounts Manager, and Regional (SEAP) Brand Manager. During their time at Jotun, Sean achieved significant accomplishments such as securing the first dealer and direct customer in Myanmar, launching Jotun's first showroom in Yangon officiated by the Norway Foreign Minister and Group CEO, and leading projects to set up a legal entity and explore land feasibility for factory construction in Myanmar. In 2021, they joined PPG Industries as a Regional Business Development Manager for Southeast Asia before transitioning to their current role as an Area Sales Manager for India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal at Venator Materials Plc. Sean Cheang earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting & Finance from Sheffield Hallam University in 2007. Sean then went on to obtain an Advanced Diploma in Financial Accounting from Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology in 2007. Sean successfully completed the ACCA certification in Financial Accounting from ACCA in 2009. Sean later pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a specialization in International Business/Trade/Commerce, which they completed at the University of Malaya from 2011 to 2014.
