Aziz Merabet

Aziz Merabet has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of security engineering and consulting. Aziz started their career in 1995 as a Customer Engineer at SUN MICROSYSTEMS. Later, they worked as a Customer Consultant at DIGITAL EQUIPMENT CORP from 1997 to 1999. At GTE Internetworking, they served as a Senior Test Engineer from 1999 to 2000, specializing in functional testing of secure provisioning tools for virtual private networks.

In 2000, Aziz joined Lucent Technologies as a Principal Test Engineer. Then, they moved to Seidcon Inc as a Principal Engineer in 2001, where they designed diagnostic expert systems and conducted testing for networking projects at DISA-Europe.

From 2005 to 2011, Aziz worked at Aerospace Corporation as a Senior Project Engineer, focusing on analyzing contractor performance and validating access control systems for various government projects. Aziz then joined DHA in 2011 as a Senior Engineer, before transferring to CenturyLink in 2012 as a Senior Security Engineer. At CenturyLink, Aziz was responsible for certification and accreditation of cloud infrastructure and vulnerability scanning for the Small Business Organization.

After two years at CenturyLink, Aziz worked at SkyePoint Decisions as a Senior Security Engineer, and then moved to Vencore Inc to assume the position of Principal Security Engineer in 2015. Throughout their career, Aziz has demonstrated expertise in security engineering, vulnerability management, penetration testing, and certification and accreditation processes.

Aziz Merabet's education history begins in 1962 when they attended the University of California, Berkeley and obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 1966. Following this, they pursued further studies at Arizona State University from 1974 to 1977, earning a Master of Science (MS) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Continuing their academic journey, Merabet enrolled at Carleton University from 1978 to 1988, where they obtained their highest degree, a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in System Engineering. In addition to their formal education, Aziz Merabet holds a certification in CISSP obtained from ISC2 in November 2008.
