Brandan Piel

Brandan Piel's work experience includes an internship at Old Dominion University's Global Health Center from May 2019 to August 2019. During this time, they were responsible for data coding and entry for survey data collection, program development and implementation for the Global Health Hero's Program, and conducting research studies on healthcare problems for children in Virginia.

Prior to that, they worked at Dyson starting in February 2018 and ending in July 2019. In this role, they assisted in manager duties and conducted local, regional, and national conference calls.

From August 2014 to December 2017, Brandan served as a Platoon Leader in the Army ROTC (Official Page).

Brandan Piel completed their Bachelor's degree in Science and a minor in Management from Old Dominion University, which they attended from 2014 to 2019. Brandan obtained additional certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ICGB) and Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Six Sigma Global Institute in 2022. In 2021, they earned the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification from the Project Management Institute. Other certifications include Cyber Awareness from the United States Department of Defense and Insider Threat from the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) in 2020. In 2019, they obtained the Responsible Conduct of Research for Administrators certification from the CITI Program, A Division of BRANY. In 2017, they completed the Speaking to the Public and Writing for the Public certifications from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In 2016, they received training in Sexual Assault from Army ROTC (Official Page). Additionally, in 2011, Brandan completed the Health Literacy for Public Health Professionals- WB2364 certification from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Brandan also holds a Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification from the National CPR Association, obtained in 2019.
