David Hortas Casas

David Hortas Casas has a diverse work experience in the field of welding and engineering. David has worked as a Lead inspector and Welding engineer on assignment at Venture Global LNG, where they were involved in the development of surveillance checklists and quality management for the Plaquemines LNG project. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Quality Assurance Quality Control Engineer at Dow, where they organized inspections and reviewed proposals for hydrostatic testing. David also worked as an on-site Senior QC for Subsea 7, leading the manufacture of suction piles for the Mad Dog 2 Project. At Bombardier Transportation, they served as a Welding Engineer, responsible for coordinating welding activities and improving quality and safety. David has also worked as a QC Inspector at Huisman Equipment B.V. and held various roles as a QA/QC and Welding Engineer at Schwartz-Hautmont, where they developed and qualified welding procedures for pressure vessel projects and offshore projects. David has experience in development, qualification, and inspection of welding procedures and has worked on structural calculation and design as a Structural Calculation and Design Engineer at COMMSAL ESTRUCTURAS METALICAS SL. Lastly, they have worked as a Welding Engineer and Welding Inspector at Indox Energy Systems, where they developed and maintained welding procedures and performed inspections of welded products.

David Hortas Casas has a diverse education history. David obtained their degree in Industrial Design from Universitat Jaume I from 2005 to 2009. In 2012 to 2013, they pursued a Master's degree in Structural Calculation and Design of Metallic and Composite Structures at ZIGURAT Institute of Technology. Prior to that, they earned a Technical degree in Occupational Risk Prevention from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 2004 to 2005 and a Higher Technical degree in Industrial Equipment Maintenance from Instituto Politécnico de Castellón in 2001 to 2003. In 2016, they also completed a Professional Technical degree in Corrosion and Material Degradation from Euroinnova International Online Education.

In addition to their academic credentials, David also holds several certifications. David obtained the International Welding Inspector Comprehensive level (IWI-C) certification from the International Institute of Welding in 2022. David is a NACE Coating Inspector Level 2 - Certified certified by NACE International in 2019. David also holds the CSWIP 3.1 certification from TWI UK - Training and Examination Services in 2017. David is certified in ACCP Level II Visual and Optical Testing by ASNT (The American Society for Nondestructive Testing) in 2016. Additionally, they hold the Certified Welding Inspector certification from the American Welding Society since 2015. David obtained the Inspector de Construcciones Soldadas nivel 3 certification from CESOL Asoc. Española Soldadura y Tec. de Unión in 2014. Lastly, David acquired the European/International Welding Engineer certification from the International Institute of Welding in 2014.
