Ken Kusano

Ken Kusano has a diverse work experience in various industries. Ken started their career as an Apprentice Mechanic at Red and White Fleet, where they conducted maintenance and overhauls on ferryboat machinery. Ken then moved on to work for the US Navy as a Ship's Maintenance & Materiel Officer, managing contracts, projects, and repairs, and implementing a continuous maintenance program to reduce costs and repair periods. Ken also worked as a Rotating Machinery Engineer at Martinez Refining Co., overseeing projects and reliability of rotating equipment. Ken later joined the U.S. Coast Guard as a Senior Marine Inspector & Investigator, conducting inspections and enforcing laws and policies on vessels. Ken also held roles at Maersk Line, Limited as a Project Manager, and at Chevron as a Hull & Systems Engineer and Regulatory Affairs & Advocacy Coordinator. Ken'sresponsibilities included technical support, emissions reduction, and compliance with laws and conventions. Finally, Ken worked at Venture Global LNG as the VP Marine Engineering, where they managed and directed stakeholders through the development and construction of marine terminals and vessel operations for an LNG export facility. Ken negotiated contracts, advanced marine works, and ensured compliance with regulations. Throughout their career, Ken has demonstrated strong leadership, project management, and technical skills.

Ken Kusano has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Marine Engineering Technology from California State University Maritime Academy, which they obtained from 1991 to 1995. Ken also holds a Master's degree in Concurrent Marine Design from the University of Michigan, completed between 2002 and 2004. In 1995, they attended the U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Officer & Gas Turbine Engineering School for Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.
