Eric Wernimont has a long and varied work experience. eric began their career in 1991 as a Ballistician Engineer at Thiokol/Morton Thiokol Corp. eric then moved on to Aerojet in 1992 as an Aerothermal Engineer. In 1994, they became a Propulsion Engineering Consultant at Orbital Sciences Corporation. In 1997, they took on the role of Propulsion Group Director at Beal Aerospace Inc. In 1998, they became VP - Operations and Co-owner of General Kinetics LLC/Inc., where they were responsible for Original Equipment Manufacturer: Hydrogen Peroxide Catalytic & Combustion Devices. In 2006, they Co-Founded and Co-Owned W3U Power LLC, acting as project manager for the installation of a single industrial scale wind turbine (~1.5 MW) on/or near the family farm. In 2008, they acted as an Engineering Consultant - Oil & Gas for The Energy Enhancement Group LLC (aka TEEG). In 2010, they became Owner & Founder of Whiskey Yankee LLC. In 2015, they began working at Virgin Orbit as Principal Engineer, Propulsion 1st Stage Manager, and Sr. Propulsion Engineer / LauncherOne/Virgin Galactic. Finally, in 2021, they joined Venus Aerospace as Chief Engineer, Oxidizers and other bushy tailed tree rodents, and Director of Propulsion, interim.

Eric Wernimont began their educational journey at Purdue University in 1982, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Aero & Astronautical Engineering with a focus in Propulsion. eric then returned to Purdue University in 1990 to earn a Master of Science in Aero & Astronautical Engineering with a focus in Propulsion. Finally, in 1994, they returned to Purdue University to earn a Doctor of Philosophy in Propulsion.
