Mia de Jesús-Martin

Research Associate, Ending Girls’ Incarceration at Vera Institute of Justice

Mia De Jesús-Martin, MSW, currently serves as a Research Associate at the Vera Institute of Justice, focusing on qualitative and mixed-methods evaluation projects aimed at ending girls' incarceration. Previously, Mia worked as an Evaluation Research Consultant, co-leading and designing anti-racist framework evaluation studies. Additional experience includes a 600-hour internship at The Bronx Defenders, advocating for housing-related issues, and multiple roles in social work and outreach, including positions at Catholic Charities, Recovery Centers of America, and Sasha Bruce Youthwork. Mia holds a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Rutgers University, complemented by an Associate of Arts degree from Montgomery College.
