Nathan Standifer

Nathan Standifer currently serves as Executive Director of Translational Medicine at Vera Therapeutics, Inc. Since June 2025. Previously, Nathan held the position of Executive Director of Translational Science at Tempest Therapeutics from April 2022 to April 2025. An extensive career at AstraZeneca spanned from September 2017 to May 2022, where Nathan progressed through roles including Group Director and Associate Director, developing and implementing flow cytometry-based biomarker assays for immuno-oncology clinical programs. Earlier experience includes work at Amgen from December 2009 to May 2014 as a Scientist, focusing on flow cytometry assays for inflammation clinical programs, and a post-doctoral fellowship at Benaroya Research Institute from October 2003 to December 2009, monitoring autoreactive T cell responses in type 1 diabetes patients. Nathan earned a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from UT Health San Antonio and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Texas.
