Emily Cole

Senior Scientist at Verdagy

Emily Cole has worked in a variety of roles since 2008. Emily began their career as a Power Generation Intern at NextEra Energy Resources in 2008. Emily then worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Connecticut in 2009. From 2011 to 2013, Emily worked as a Graduate Research Assistant and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Nevada Reno. During this time, they also worked as an Engineering Intern at Calera Corporation. In 2017, they began working as a Scientist at Chemetry. In 2021, Emily began working as a Scientist II at Verdagy, where they collaborate with scientists and engineers to develop alkaline water electrolysis as a economically viable pathway for green hydrogen production. Emily also researches and prioritizes the viability of novel chemical methods aimed at reducing the electrical input required for alkaline water electrolysis. Additionally, Emily is an Adjunct Faculty at Hartnell College.

Emily Cole earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Connecticut in 2011. Emily then went on to earn a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2013. In April 2012, Emily obtained their Engineer Intern certification from the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
