Liferay Portal - Front End Developer

We are actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Liferay Portal - Front End Developer to join our newly established offshore development center in Cochin. With a minimum of 4 years of professional experience in technology, the ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and delivering high-performance and responsive web applications using Liferay and frontend web technologies. As a Liferay Front End Developer, you will contribute to all development lifecycle phases, ensuring the production of well-designed, testable, and efficient code that complies with specifications.

What will you do:-

• Design and develop web applications hosted on Liferay DXP using React to deliver high-performance and responsive solutions.
• Extend the user experience within Liferay DXP through the use of templates, style books and client extensions
• Collaborate within the professional services team, UX, and project teams to help develop solutions.
• Guide other engineers on front-end development approaches and techniques.
• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and design to implementation and testing.
• Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code with a keen focus on quality and performance.
• Ensure that designs are in compliance with specifications and industry best practices.
• Prepare and produce releases of software components, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
• Collaborate effectively in a team environment, fostering communication and knowledge-sharing.
• Work closely with our global technology partner to deliver cutting-edge solutions to our clients.
• Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams to successfully deliver projects on time.

What do you need to succeed:-

• The incumbent should have a minimum of 4 years of experience in React web application development, including state management, routing, form handling, hooks, and functional components.

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (with knowledge of newer EcmaScript versions) is required.

• Possesses extensive experience with Liferay DXP Content Management system, including structures, freemarker templates, and fragments development.

• Familiarity with Liferay DXP administration tasks such as roles, permissions, page creation, and display page templates.

• Experience developing client extensions/portlets using Liferay headless APIs and integrating with REST-based web services.

• Familiar with the Software Development Lifecycle and DevOps including related tools such as project management tools like Jira, Source Control tools including git GIT, testing tools and CI/CD pipelines.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Liferay Objects framework.
• Previous experience working with Liferay DXP Search tuning with Elasticsearch is preferred.
• Experience working with other Digital Experience Platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager, Sitecore, Acquia, or Salesforce Experience Cloud will be an advantage.
• Preferable to have experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and the Spring Framework.
