Kara Brown Cross

Kara (Brown) Cross has extensive experience in the insurance and regulatory sectors, currently serving as the Regional Vice President for State Government Affairs - Western Region at Verisk since October 2019. Prior to this role, Kara served as a Principal at Quintana, Watts & Hartmann, where expertise in insurance and regulated businesses was developed. From October 2012 to October 2018, Kara was the General Counsel for the Personal Insurance Federation of California, advocating for major national homeowners and auto insurers. Additional legal experience includes serving as Corporate Counsel for the California Dental Association/The Dentists Insurance Company, and as Counsel for State Farm Insurance, where regulatory matters in California and lobbying efforts in Congress were coordinated. Kara holds a BA in Political Science/Public Service from the University of California, Davis, and a JD from the University of San Francisco School of Law.
