Philip Perera has a wide range of work experience in the field of technology and information management. Philip has held various roles at different companies throughout their career.

At Veritas Technologies LLC, they worked as the Chief Solutions Architect for the Asia South and Pacific Region, focusing on Veritas InfoScale Storage, High Availability product, Veritas NetBackup, and Veritas Appliances. Philip's early work experience includes working at Vanik Incorporation Ltd, Colombo, Sri Lanka, where they served as Manager IT Operations. Philip headed the Y2k readiness team, implemented a disaster recovery procedure, and handled system administration and database administration tasks.

Philip Perera completed their education at the University of Colombo from 1991 to 1996, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree with an Honors Degree in Physical Sciences. Prior to that, they attended St. Joseph's College in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from 1977 to 1989, where they achieved an Advanced Level education. In addition to their formal education, Philip Perera obtained certifications in Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals from Microsoft and in Personal Development and Basic Counselling Skills from The Saint John of God Institute of Counselling in 2021 and 2015, respectively.
