Howard Mizes is an experienced data scientist with a strong background in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Currently serving as a Distinguished Data Scientist at Verizon since January 2020, Mizes contributes to the AI&D team by leveraging AI and machine learning to enhance business operations and improve customer experience. Prior to this role, Mizes was a Principal Data Scientist at Conduent, leading research efforts in transportation and healthcare innovations, and held the position of Principal Scientist at PARC, A Xerox Company, focusing on transportation advancements through computer vision and analytics. Mizes has extensive experience at Xerox in various roles, including Principal Scientist and Senior Member of Research Staff, where significant contributions were made to image quality and xerographic development. Mizes began a career at IBM as a Post-doctoral Fellow, researching atomic force microscopy techniques. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Stanford University and a Master's in Computer Science from the University of Rochester.
