Lulia Barakat

Lulia Barakat is an accomplished professional at Verizon with extensive experience in infrastructure planning and technical leadership. Currently serving as Associate Director, Lulia leads a team focused on architectural design and implementation of robocall mitigation strategies, including STIR/SHAKEN deployment. Previous roles include Distinguished Member of Technical Staff and Principal Member of Technical Staff, where Lulia developed network design architectures for new hardware and services, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability. Lulia began the career at Verizon Business as Lead Consultant Engineer, providing leadership and resolving complex network and software challenges. Lulia holds two Master’s degrees in Telecommunications Engineering and Systems Engineering from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from King Saud University.
