Michael Peller

Michael Peller currently serves as the Head of School at Vermont Academy since July 2025, after founding the Upper School at Hillbrook School from July 2022 to July 2025. Previous roles include Assistant Head for Teaching and Learning at The White Mountain School, Board Chair at Woodland Community School, and various positions at The Nueva School, including Assistant Head of Upper School and Director of Admissions. Peller has also worked as a math teacher at Holderness School and has held teaching and administrative roles at Country Day School in Costa Rica, Northfield Mount Hermon, and Sonoma Academy. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Independent School Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Engineering from Harvard University.
