Rachel Parsons

Rachel Parsons is a Senior Scientist at Vernalis, having worked there since June 2004 as a medicinal chemist, focusing on various targets such as kinase, protein-protein interaction, and ion channel inhibitors. Prior to this role, Rachel was a Medicinal Chemist at Ionix for a brief period in early 2004, where the focus was on investigating potential sodium channel inhibitors. Rachel's career began with postdoctoral work at Brock University in Canada from October 2001 to December 2003, exploring vitamin E derivatives as anti-cancer agents while also supervising Master's students and assisting with undergraduate lab sessions. Rachel holds a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from Newcastle University, earned between September 1998 and October 2001, as well as a BSc (hons) in Medicinal Chemistry from the same university, completed in June 1998.
