Lina Vanesa Espitia Gil

Lina Vanesa Espitia Gil is a skilled forestry engineer with extensive experience in environmental project management, particularly in carbon projects and natural climate solutions. Currently serving as a Senior Program Officer at Verra since November 2023, Lina is responsible for reviewing Natural Climate Solutions projects to ensure their quality and integrity. Prior to this role, Lina worked as a Senior Project Manager at South Pole from August 2017 to November 2023, where development of carbon projects, particularly in Afforestation and Reforestation under Gold Standard and VCS standards, was a primary focus. Lina's earlier experience includes serving as a Field Engineer at Cipreses de Colombia S.A. from December 2010 to February 2016, managing commercial forest plantations in the Andean region of Colombia, overseeing various forest operations, and contributing to forest management plans and FSC certification. Lina holds a degree in Forestry Engineering from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
