Brian Toney

Brian Toney currently serves as a Formulation Senior Research Scientist at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, a position held since June 2022, and has previously held roles as Formulation Research Scientist and Senior Research Associate. Prior to his tenure at Vertex, Brian spent over seven years at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. as a Project Consultant, where responsibilities included conducting field and laboratory investigations for failure analysis and product development, managing complex projects with significant budgets, and providing chemistry support to a large team of engineers. Brian holds an M.S. in Chemistry with a focus on Materials Chemistry and a B.S. in Chemistry, both from Furman University. Additionally, Brian has participated in the SEA Semester Class S-238 since 2011.
