Pedro Manuel García-Barrantes

Pedro Manuel García-Barrantes is a seasoned professional in medicinal chemistry, currently serving as Principal Research Scientist and Team Leader at Vertex Pharmaceuticals since February 2018. With a strong academic background, including a Ph.D. in Chemical Biology from Vanderbilt University, Pedro's career spans various roles, starting as a Doctoral Researcher at Vanderbilt and earlier positions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Universidad de Costa Rica. Expertise includes the development of innovative photoredox chemistry methodologies, discovery of allosteric modulators, and significant research contributions in natural products with medicinal applications.
