Pia Mountford

Pia Mountford is an experienced executive in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, currently serving as Vice President of Cell & Genetic Therapies at Vertex Pharmaceuticals since July 2021, after holding the role of Executive Director of Gene Editing External Manufacturing Operations. Prior to Vertex, Pia held leadership positions at CRISPR Therapeutics and Juno Therapeutics, focusing on external manufacturing and technical operations. At Bristol-Myers Squibb, Pia excelled as Director: Strategic Product Lead for major oncology products, as well as in strategic sourcing and manufacturing technology. Pia's career began at Norbrook Laboratories and the CSIR Division of Bio/Chemical Technologies. Pia obtained a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Cape Town.
