Ranga Welaratne

Ranga Welaratne is a seasoned executive in the pharmaceutical industry with extensive experience in global commercialization and strategic leadership. Currently serving as VP of Global Commercial Strategy for Hematology at Vertex Pharmaceuticals since September 2025, Ranga previously held various senior roles at Sanofi from July 2003 to September 2025, including VP of Global Head for Rare Diseases Franchise Commercialization and VP of Head ITTP/Cablivi for US Rare Blood Disorders, where Ranga managed significant commercial portfolios and led successful product launches. Ranga's earlier roles involved strategic contributions to supply chain and business model innovation, particularly in China and Australasia. Additionally, Ranga served as a Non-Executive Board Member at Quadrant.io, advising on crucial business strategies and development. Ranga holds a Bachelor of Advanced Manufacturing Technology in Engineering from Monash University and a Graduate Diploma in Technology Management from Deakin University.
