Roman A. Valiulin

Roman A. Valiulin is an accomplished Principal Research Scientist at Vertex Pharmaceuticals since May 2020, with a focus on medicinal chemistry and synthetic organic chemistry. Additionally, Roman serves as an Adjunct Instructor at UC San Diego Extension, teaching Organic Chemistry courses. Previous experience includes significant roles at Alkermes, where responsibilities encompassed the design and synthesis of new compounds and management of external teams in the Medicinal Chemistry Discovery Group. Roman's academic journey includes a Senior Postdoctoral Fellowship at Georgia Institute of Technology and a Postdoctoral Fellowship at The Scripps Research Institute. Roman completed a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Denver and holds a Master's Degree in Organic & Medicinal Chemistry from Lomonosov Moscow State University.
