Sheila Namirembe

Sheila Namirembe, PhD, is a Senior Research Scientist at Vertex Pharmaceuticals since June 2020, previously serving as a Research Scientist. At Boston College, from August 2015 to May 2020, Sheila worked as a Graduate Research Assistant, focusing on advancing palladium-catalyzed reactions and the stereoselective boron-Wittig reaction. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Assistant at the College of the Holy Cross, where innovative approaches to synthesize quinolizines and beta-lactams were developed. Sheila holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Boston College and a BA in Chemistry from the College of the Holy Cross, complemented by an International Baccalaureate Diploma and an Ordinary Level Certificate. Leadership roles include Co-Chair of the Chemistry Student Advisory Committee and President of the American Chemical Society Holy Cross Chapter.
