Lauri Fern has over 17 years of experience working in the environmental industry. Ms. Fern has a broad range of technical and management expertise in insurance services, environmental consulting, remediation, risk management, and due diligence services. Ms. Fern received her undergraduate degree from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey with an emphasis in Environmental Studies.
As a Senior Project Manager, her roles and responsibilities include environmental risk investigations, claim investigations, invoice reviews, cost negotiations, risk assessments, remedy selection and cost evaluation, environmental site assessments, closure negotiations, business development, field investigation activities, scheduling, and coordination of subcontractor activities for projects, report composition, laboratory and engineering data analysis, and team management.
She currently investigates pollution loss and origination and performs technical oversight of oil and/or hazardous material loss insurance claims throughout the United States to ensure investigation and remediation activities are cost-effective and appropriate. In addition, she evaluates environmental and general liability risks for loss control purposes. She also conducts Phase I and Phase II investigations.
She has overseen the assessment and remediation of over 50 major oil company sites and over 200 residential heating oil sites. These efforts include conducting site and remedial investigations, supervising soil excavations and remediation system installations, monitoring well installations, and preparing comprehensive reports for regulatory review.
Previously, Ms. Fern held the position of Environmental Scientist at three prior firms. Specific responsibilities included conducting site investigations, delineation of contaminated media, oversight of excavation activities, and preparation of comprehensive investigative reports.
