Sierra Scolaro

Sales Operation Manager at Vertosa

Sierra Scolaro is the Program Manager of Business Development at Vertosa. Sierra previously worked as an Executive Assistant at Sunroom Rentals from February 2021 to January 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Student Innovation Programs Coordinator at Cal Poly Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship from November 2019 to February 2021. In this role, they were responsible for coordinating and promoting extracurricular programs on campus, including the Elevator Pitch Competition, Hatchery Student Incubator, and Summer Accelerator. Sierra also mentored students in the early startup stages, helping them navigate the path from ideation to launch.

Before their work in academia, Sierra was the Founder and CEO of Wayve, Inc., a company that aimed to provide clean, safe drinking water in an easy, convenient, and environmentally-friendly way. Wayve began as a Senior Project at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in the Fall of 2018. After completing the Cal Poly CIE Summer Accelerator, diving into R&D with industry experts, and initiating a series of pivots, Sierra and their team came to the conclusion that water filtration technology was not yet advanced enough to effectively operate in their desired formfactor.

Sierra Scolaro reports to Austin Stevenson, Chief Innovation Officer.
