William Ballard

Consulting Scientist at Verus Research

William Ballard has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several decades. William began their career as a Junior Engineer at Creare in 1974. William then joined Sandia National Laboratories in 1981 and held various positions, including Member of Technical Staff, Senior Member of Technical Staff, and Department Manager. During their time at Sandia, they worked on projects involving radiation transport, simulation technology research, reliability of electrical systems, and the development of laser-produced plasma sources for lithography. Ballard retired from Sandia in 2017 and later joined Verus Research (formerly XL Scientific) as a Consulting Scientist.

William Ballard received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics from Dartmouth College, where they studied from 1970 to 1973. Following this, they pursued further education at Stanford University and achieved a Ph.D. in Applied Physics, completing their studies between 1973 and 1981.
