Estela Shabani

Scientist II, Editing & Discovery at Verve Therapeutics

Estela Shabani is a scientist II, editing and discovery at Verve Therapeutics. She has expertise in parasitology, cell and molecular biology, and gene editing. Prior to Verve, Dr. Shabani completed her postdoctoral training at the Harvard School of Public Health, where she used RNAi and CRISPR/Cas9-mediated forward and reverse genetic approaches to identify host determinants of malaria infection. Dr. Shabani received her Ph.D. in microbiology, immunology and cancer biology from the University of Minnesota, where she studied the unique host-pathogen interactions in pediatric severe malaria. She has authored and co-authored more than a dozen peer-reviewed articles.
