Vian is a senior scientist, editing and discovery at Verve Therapeutics. Vian has over 10 years of cell biology experience, from academia and industry. Prior to joining Verve, she worked as a senior manager and research scientist at Absorption Systems, a Pharmaron Company. As a team lead, Vian developed cell-based potency assays in support of investigational gene therapies. Prior to that, she completed her second postdoctoral training at Case Western Reserve University, where she used CRISPR-Cas9 technologies to genetically modify human epithelial cell lines to investigate the role of genomic spacing between cis-regulatory elements in CFTR gene loci. Before that, Vian completed her first postdoctoral training at Health Canada where she developed cell-based in vitro assays to assess the toxicological effects of environmental pollutants and investigated their mechanisms of action. Vian is a coauthor of twelve peer-reviewed scientific publications and the lead author in seven of those. She received her Ph.D. and M.Sc. in biochemistry from the University of Ottawa, ON, Canada.
