Senior Director Intellectual Property and Chief Patent Counsel at Vesigen Therapeutics

Thomas Bordner has a long history of work experience in the field of intellectual property. Thomas began their career in 1997 as a Judicial Extern at the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. In 1998, they became an Associate Patent Attorney at Medlen & Carroll LLP, where they represented clients in all areas of U.S. and foreign patent preparation and prosecution. In 2004, they joined Sanofi Pasteur as the Director of Intellectual Property, where they had global responsibility for protecting intellectual property assets related to several important product franchises and research projects. In 2013, they moved to BIPLaw LLC as a Principal, where they provided intellectual property acquisition, protection, enforcement, and licensing services. In 2016, they became a Partner at Prince Lobel Tye LLP, where they provided strategic advice and practical assistance in all aspects of patent and other forms of intellectual property. Most recently, in 2022, they joined Vesigen Therapeutics, Inc. as the Senior Director Intellectual Property and Chief Patent Counsel.

Thomas Bordner obtained a Juris Doctor from The University of Toledo College of Law between 1996 and 1999. Thomas also attended The Johns Hopkins University to study Biotechnology, University of Wisconsin Madison to study Medical Microbiology and Bacteriology, and the University of Cincinnati to obtain a Bachelor's of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology between 1990 and 1994.
