Ayman Farahat

Ayman Farahat's work experience begins with their current position as a Principal Data Scientist at Vesta since November 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Lead Data Scientist at SmartMargins from February 2022 to November 2022.

From February 2019 to February 2022, Ayman served as a Senior Data Scientist Fellow at CeaDAR Ireland. In this role, they applied data modeling techniques to solve various business issues faced by CeADAR clients. In this role, they developed R&D solutions based on data management and analytics tools, focusing on GPS data summarization and hotspot detection for traffic and transportation purposes.

Before moving to the United States, Ayman worked as a Senior Data Mining and Warehouse Developer at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies (MCIT) in Egypt from March 2006 to February 2011. Ayman extracted valuable information from Egyptian governmental data in the fields of tourism and oil & gas industry and developed data warehouses and OLAP systems.

Ayman'searliest professional experience can be traced back to the Egyptian national project for removing illiteracy, where they worked as a Data Analyst Engineer from December 2003 to October 2005. In this role, they developed a GIS-based decision support system to identify the social factors affecting illiteracy in Egypt.

Overall, Ayman Farahat has extensive experience in data science, including roles in academia, industry, and research organizations. Ayman has expertise in data modeling, machine learning, data analytics, and geospatial data computing.

Ayman Farahat's education history begins with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Cairo University, which they obtained from 1998 to 2002. Ayman then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Information and Computer Science from Cairo University, completing it from 2003 to 2006. Ayman Farahat later engaged in a Joint Ph.D. program between Cairo University and the University of Minnesota, specializing in Data and Computer Science. This Ph.D. was achieved from 2009 to 2014. More recently, Ayman Farahat pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration from Technological University Dublin, completing it from 2019 to 2021.
