Asiff S. Hirji

Asiff S. Hirji is a Canadian-American business executive who is currently serving as an advisor at Vestigo Ventures. Asiff has previously served in various leadership roles at some of the world's largest financial technology companies. These include President and Chief Operating Officer at Coinbase, one of the world's largest cryptocurrency brokers and exchanges, and Director at RentPath, TES Global Limited, and Eze Software Group.

Hirji was born in Toronto, Canada to parents of Indian descent. Asiff received their undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Toronto before going on to earn their MBA from Harvard Business School. After graduation, they began their career working in management consulting for firms such as McKinsey & Company and Bain & Company.

In 2012, Hirji left the consulting world to join the executive team at RentPath, a digital media company specializing in online advertising and marketing solutions for the apartment rental industry. Asiff served as a director on the company's board until it was acquired by TPG Capital in 2019.

In 2014, Hirji became President and Chief Operating Officer of Coinbase, one of the world's leading digital currency exchanges. During their time at Coinbase, they oversaw the company's massive growth, helping it scale to over $1 billion in revenue and becoming one of the most valuable startups in Silicon Valley. Asiff also played a key role in launching new products and expanding into new markets.

In 2017, Hirji left Coinbase to join the board of directors at Forge (formerly Equidate), the largest private company equity marketplace in the world. Asiff has also served on the advisory board of Nubank, one of the fastest-growing challenger banks in the world. Most recently, they have been working as an advisor at Vestigo Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on investing in early-stage companies in the financial technology sector.

Asiff S. Hirji has a MBA from Ivey Business School at Western University and a BSc from the University of Calgary. Asiff graduated with honours from Ivey Business School and was 1st in their section. Asiff was also a Dean's List student and an exchange student to the London Business School. Asiff graduated from the University of Calgary with a focus on software engineering, operating systems, and databases.
