Courtney Hunter

Courtney Hunter, DVM, PhD, DACLAM, is an experienced veterinary professional currently serving as a Clinical Veterinarian and Assistant Professor in the Division of Comparative Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center since July 2021. In addition to this role, Courtney Hunter also holds positions as an Independent Contractor with Vetco Clinics and VIP Petcare since July 2018. Prior to these roles, Courtney Hunter completed a Laboratory Animal Veterinary Residency at the University of Michigan from July 2018 to June 2021 and worked as a Veterinarian with RELIEF VETERINARIAN from May 2017 to July 2019. Academic experience includes serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at Mississippi State University from January 2011 to May 2018, alongside teaching various dance styles at Dance Divine Ballet Company during the same period. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Veterinary Medical Sciences and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, both from Mississippi State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Evolutionary Anthropology from Duke University.
