Zak Lara

Zak Lara is an experienced communications professional and filmmaker currently serving as the Communications Manager for Veterans Legal Institute since February 2024. With a strong military background, Zak has held various roles including CEO and Filmmaker at Lens of Lara, Director of Cadet & Community Engagement at North Valley Military Institute, and Strategic Communications point of contact for the California State Guard. Zak has contributed to the California Cadet Corps and Porterville Military Academy, focusing on mentorship and curriculum leadership. A graduate of Mount Saint Mary's University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Cinematography and Film/Video Production, Zak combines expertise in content creation and strategic communications to effectively engage audiences and strengthen support for various initiatives.
