Brett Montague, DVM DACVECC, is a veterinary criticalist with extensive experience in emergency medicine and critical care. Currently serving at the Veterinary Specialty Center since October 2024, Brett previously held a similar position at the Arizona Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center from October 2023 to October 2024. Brett's training includes a residency in Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine from July 2020 to July 2023 and an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine from June 2019 to July 2020. Leadership roles include President of the Class of 2019 at Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine and President of the Student Chapter of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society. Brett also gained hands-on experience as an On Call Surgery Technician at Kansas State University Veterinary Health Center and as a Veterinary Assistant at Del Ray Animal Hospital. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University and dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Biology and Animal and Poultry Sciences from Virginia Tech.
