Arnel Ilano

Arnel Ilano has a diverse work experience in the field of product design and user experience. Arnel currently works as a Staff Product Designer at Vetster Inc. starting from March 2023. Before joining Vetster Inc., Arnel worked at Thinkific as a Senior Product Designer from September 2021 to January 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Product Designer at WorkTango Inc. from December 2020 to June 2021.

Arnel's earlier experiences include working as a User Experience Architect at Sun Life from May 2016 to December 2020, where they led the UX interaction for a digital insurance application project, winning a CEO award in 2020. Arnel also received the 2017 CEO Award for their contribution to the redesign of the Sun Life mobile app. Arnel worked at Havas as a User Experience Architect from October 2014 to April 2016, collaborating with various teams to create responsive websites and mobile apps for clients in the insurance, banking, law, and telecommunications industries.

Before Havas, Arnel was an Interaction Designer at Nurun from February 2014 to August 2014, where they delivered responsive design solutions for retail and government clients. Arnel was responsible for conducting competitive audits, creating user flows, wireframes, and prototypes, as well as presenting to both internal and client stakeholders.

Arnel's earliest work experience was as a Senior Design Lead at Flipp from August 2008 to February 2014. As the first design hire, they played a crucial role in establishing Flipp's design language and worked closely with the founders to showcase the company's value offerings through conceptual prototypes, emphasizing innovation.

Throughout their career, Arnel Ilano has gained strong expertise in product design, user experience architecture, wireframing, prototyping, user research, and client presentations.

Arnel Ilano completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in New Media Studies from the University of Toronto from 2004 to 2008. In terms of additional certifications, Arnel became a Certified Usability Analyst from Human Factors International in April 2019. In December 2015, Arnel also obtained a certification in Psychology for Digital Behaviour Change from the Behavioral Design Academy of AlterSpark.
