Raffaello D'Andrea has a diverse work experience in the fields of robotics, automation, and engineering. Raffaello is the founder of Verity, a company that provides an automated inventory tracking system using self-flying drones. Prior to this, they co-founded Kiva Systems, which later became Amazon Robotics, and played a significant role in developing an automated warehouse storage and retrieval system using autonomous mobile robots. Raffaello also worked as a professor at ETH Zürich, where they conducted research on dynamic systems and control. Additionally, they served as an advisor and co-founder of ROBO Global, a company focused on investing in robotics, artificial intelligence, and healthcare technology. D'Andrea has also worked as a professor at Cornell University, specializing in mechanical and aerospace engineering. Raffaello D'Andrea completed their Bachelor's degree in Engineering Science at the University of Toronto in 1991. Raffaello then pursued their Master's degree in Electrical Engineering at Caltech, which they obtained in 1992. Subsequently, they continued their studies at Caltech and earned their PhD in Electrical Engineering in 1997.
