Santiago Toso

Santiago Toso has a strong background in data science and project management. Santiago currently holds the position of Principal Data Scientist at Via, where they specialize in Bayesian modeling and survival analysis. Santiago has also built a real-time GPS heartbeat fetching pipeline. Prior to this, Santiago worked as a Senior Geospatial Data Analyst at Remix, where they led prototype and pilot design for new features and conducted transit-related geospatial analysis. Santiago also served as a Project Manager, leading software implementation and providing training and support to European Transit Authorities. Santiago's previous experience includes roles as a Project Manager IT at AndSoft and a Senior Business & Optimization Consultant at GOAL SYSTEMS, where they implemented bus scheduling optimization software and collaborated with engineering teams. Santiago began their career as a Junior Strategic Planning Analyst at Aluar and completed an internship and master's thesis in genetic algorithms at CRP Henri Tudor. Santiago has also worked as a teaching assistant in Technical Statistics at Universidad Nacional de Cuyo. Throughout their career, they have consistently demonstrated a strong aptitude for mathematical programming and has expanded their knowledge in machine learning using R and Python.

Santiago Toso has a diverse educational background. In 2018, they obtained a Máster in Data Analytics & Cognitive Intelligence from MSMK, specializing in Tecnología de la información. Prior to that, they completed a Master's degree in Science and Technology - Conception, Innovation et Industrialisation from Arts et Métiers ParisTech - École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers in 2012. In 2012, Santiago received an Ingénieur Industriel degree in Industrial Engineering from Ecole nationale d'Ingénieurs de Metz. Their undergraduate studies were completed at Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, where they obtained a degree in Industrial Engineering in 2012. Furthermore, Santiago has obtained multiple certifications in various areas of data science and business from institutions such as Coursera and IBM.
