Michael Swensen

Michael Swensen is the Chief Compliance Officer at ViaBill. Michael has extensive experience in corporate law, having served as Senior Corporate Legal Counsel at LendingClub from November 2019 to April 2021. In that role, they were responsible for product counsel to multiple business units, participated in the development and rollout of new products and services, and managed a significant amount of the regulatory review process for the potential acquisition and integration of a regional bank into the nation’s first and only full spectrum fintech marketplace bank. Michael also advised multiple organizational units on company directives and risk tolerances to streamline team efficiencies and minimize organizational hazards. Michael has a deep understanding of compliance obligations in relation to complex financial institution regulations, and has successfully managed compliance projects resulting in multi-million-dollar savings.

Michael Swensen has a Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, an MBA in IT Management from Western Governors University, and a BA in Political Science from the University of Utah. Michael is also certified as a Credit Union Compliance Expert from the Credit Union National Association and as a Fundamentals of Auditing from NERC.
