Cole Benson

Cole Benson is an accomplished design professional with extensive experience in leading design initiatives across various industries. Currently serving as Lead Designer at Viasat Inc. since October 2019, Cole has directed design activities spanning residential, aviation, and zero-to-one products while collaborating with executives on product strategy and execution. Previous roles include Lead Product Designer at Backpack Health, where Cole focused on developing tools for health data management, and multiple positions at Microsoft, including leading design for the Word Flow iOS keyboard and initiatives within Microsoft Health. Cole also possesses a strong background in visual and interactive design from time at RMB Vivid and as Principal Designer at Cole Benson Design. In addition to professional work, Cole has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Washington, imparting knowledge in web design and information architecture. Educational credentials include an MDes in Visual Communication Design from the University of Washington and a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Minnesota Duluth.
