Emilio Figueroa

Emilio Figueroa is an experienced satellite engineer currently working at Viasat Inc. since January 2019, where responsibilities include developing and testing commanding scripts for the ViaSat 3 satellite constellation and training interns in satellite operations. Previous roles include Systems Engineer at Rocket Propulsion Laboratory, contributing to the development of a liquid propellant rocket, and Design Engineer at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Emilio also served as a Laboratory Technician at the National Center for Microscopy and Imaging Research, focusing on 3-D modeling of neurons. Early education experiences include involvement in autonomous vehicle programming at UCSD and completing a first-year engineering course that introduced CAD design principles. Emilio graduated from UC San Diego in 2020 after studies at Hartnell College.
