Jose Cotarelo

Jose Cotarelo is an accomplished business leader with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry and investment banking. Currently serving as Head of North America at Viatris since November 2020 and previously as Head of US Generics Retail, Cotarelo held various leadership roles at Mylan from 2009 to November 2020, including Head of North & Western Europe and President of JANZ, demonstrating strong regional management capabilities. Cotarelo's earlier career includes roles such as Head of Rest of World Markets and Head of Brazil at Mylan, as well as Vice President of Global Business Development at Merrill Lynch, where responsibilities grew from a Summer Associate to Director in Global Mergers & Acquisitions. Early career experience includes a position as an analyst at Nomura. Cotarelo holds a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University, complemented by early academic excellence as Valedictorian at Cooper City High School.
