Maria Tsontaki

Maria Tsontaki is a highly skilled professional with a robust background in bioinformatics and data analysis. Currently serving as a Project Manager in Data Analysis at VIB since April 2024, Maria has previously worked as a Bioinformatics Scientist at Diagenode, a Hologic company, where support was provided to R&D and Service teams focusing on epigenetics and NGS data analysis from December 2021 to March 2024. Prior experience includes a role as a Bioinformatician at KU Leuven, implementing image processing features, and research on microbial biofilm dynamics. Maria's academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Bioinformatics from KU Leuven and a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Biomolecular Sciences and Biotechnology from the University of Crete. Additionally, internships and thesis projects at VIB and IMBB further highlight expertise in molecular biology and bioinformatics tools.
