Marianna Decet

Marianna Decet, PhD, currently serves as a Scientific Officer at VIB, specifically with the International Plant Biotechnology Outreach (IPBO) program, where responsibilities include designing and delivering hands-on advanced molecular biology training to partner universities in Africa while managing communication with these institutions. Previously, Marianna was a Doctoral Researcher at VIB's Patrik Verstreken's Laboratory of Neuronal Communication, mastering various techniques in molecular biology and neuroscience during doctoral studies. Additional experiences include conducting research at KU Leuven, where Marianna focused on enteric neurosciences and mitochondrial transfer, and participating in outreach efforts with Associazione RagionevolMente. Educationally, Marianna holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from KU Leuven, a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences from the same institution, and a Bachelor's degree in Biomolecular Sciences from Università di Trento.
