Mark Braboy

Mark Braboy is a seasoned freelance journalist specializing in music, culture, and cannabis. Since February 2018, Braboy has contributed to various local and national publications, with a primary focus on Black music, particularly hip hop and R&B. Current roles include freelance contributions to the Chicago Tribune Media Group, ESSENCE Girls United, Harper's Bazaar, Rolling Stone, Shondaland, and the Chicago Sun-Times, among others. Braboy's work encompasses deeply researched features, event coverage, and music criticism. An alumnus of Jackson State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature, Braboy has also held various writing positions at Billboard and Vibe Media since 2015, honing expertise in music reporting and criticism.
