Karthikeya Sharma Parunandi

Roboticist at Vicarious

Karthikeya completed his Masters in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University, where he was involved in research at the intersection of Stochastic Optimal Control, Motion Planning under Uncertainty and Reinforcement Learning. His thesis focused on developing model-based and model-free algorithms in the same domain based on a near-optimal decoupling principle.

Prior to MS, he interned in robotics labs at KAIST in South Korea and the University of Twente in the Netherlands, while pursuing his bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering at IIT Guwahati.

His hobbies include flying drones, playing racquetball, savoring Indian classical music, and occasionally jamming up on Cajon/Djembe/Piano.
