Eduardo Zea

Eduardo Zea has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Starting in 2004, they worked as a Project Manager at Vichara Technologies, where they managed offshore development operations in India. In 2006, Eduardo served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Florida International University. Eduardo then joined Invest in Bogota as a Consultant in 2008.

In 2009, Eduardo became the Biodiversity Information System Program Coordinator at the Instituto Alexander von Humboldt, where they were responsible for making biodiversity research and data available to the public through web applications. Eduardo also secured funding for the institute through proposals to the Colombian government and international cooperation agencies.

Eduardo continued their career in various roles, including as Director Técnico at UT Macrocuencas, where they led a project focused on planning and managing water resources in Colombia. Eduardo also worked as an Asesor Gerencia General at Empresa de Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Bogotá ESP, providing advisory services to the general management.

In 2016, Eduardo served as an Asesor del Despacho at Departamento Administrativo de Gestion del Medio Ambiente - DAGMA. Eduardo then became the CEO of Salud Able Foods SAS in 2017, a company that offers healthy and innovative foods at fair prices while promoting responsible production processes.

From 2018 to 2019, Eduardo worked as a Biodiversity, modeling, and data analysis expert at Chemonics International, where they specialized in biodiversity conservation projects. Currently, Eduardo holds the position of Managing Director, Analytics at Vichara Technologies, overseeing analytics operations.

Eduardo Zea completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana between 1991 and 1998. Later, they pursued their higher education at Princeton University, where they obtained a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from 1998 to 2003. Additionally, in November 2019, they received a certification in "Communicating with Confidence" from LinkedIn.
