Glenn de Jong has held various positions in the scientific field since 2012. Glenn began their career as a Teamleider & Vulploegmedewerker at MCD Supermarkten in 2012. In 2014, they became a Bachelor Research Intern at Delft University of Technology, where they conducted research in biocatalysis and performed various activities such as activity assays, recyclability assays, enzyme purification, and HPLC. In 2016, they were a Master Research Intern at Erasmus MC in the Cancer & Aging Group, Department of Molecular Genetics, where they conducted research in molecular genetics and performed qPCR, PCR, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence staining, Confocal microscopy, Cell culture, Transfections, RNA isolation, cDNA, 3’UTR luciferase assay, Cloning, Cell Cycle Analysis, Colony survival assays, MTT viability assays, Fluorescence microscopy and spectrophotometry. In 2017, they became a Research Associate at BioMarin Nederland B.V., where they were responsible for in-vitro screening of antisense oligonucleotides (AONs) as a treatment for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) by exon skipping, AON screening by gymnotic uptake or transfections and the downstream processing of samples by RNA isolation and cDNA synthesis, and validating therapeutic efficacy of AONs by Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR). Most recently, they have been a Scientist at Vico Therapeutics B.V. since 2020.

Glenn de Jong attended Comenius College from 2005 to 2011, where they earned a VWO++ degree in the field of Natuur & Techniek and Natuur & Gezondheid. Glenn then went on to Leiden University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Life Science & Technology from 2011 to 2015. Finally, they graduated from Leiden University in 2017 with a Master of Science (MSc) in Life Science & Technology, Research & Development.
